Delfin MTL 202 ACD

The MTL 202 ACD is the compact 20-litre ACD sibling of the 302 ACD: the same topology with two bypass motors in parallel on single-phase 230 V, the same cartridge filter with Dustop cleaning, but in a smaller 35 kg frame. The internal construction follows IEC 60335-2-69 Annex AA, so the dust container is treated as Zone 20 even when the surroundings are not ATEX-classified.

Questions and answers

What is the difference between the MTL 202 ACD and MTL 302 ACD?

Both have two bypass motors in parallel on single-phase 230 V and the same ACD certification. The MTL 202 has a 20-litre container (vs the 302 ACD's 40 L) and is lighter (35 kg vs 48 kg) -- suited to tight workshops and shorter running times. The MTL 302 suits larger service areas and longer duty without emptying.

Can the MTL 202 ACD be used in an ATEX-classified zone?

No. The MTL 202 ACD is certified to IEC 60335-2-69 Annex AA and is intended only for non-ATEX-classified areas. If your area is classified as Zone 22 or stricter, choose an ATEX-certified model -- for example the MTL 201 1/3D or MTL 201 1/2D.

Why does it have two motors?

Two bypass motors in parallel deliver roughly double the airflow (360 m³/h) without requiring three-phase power. This suits workshops and smaller production areas where only single-phase 230 V is available, but where the task demands more suction than a single 1.1 kW motor can provide.

What does the Dustop filter cleaning do?

Dustop is Delfin's integrated filter cleaning system: a single handle press shakes the cartridge filter so accumulated dust drops into the container and the filter's pressure drop is restored. This extends filter life and keeps suction stable across longer runs.

What filter class is fitted?

The MTL 202 ACD is supplied in filter class H with HEPA H14 per EN 1822 (99.995 % efficiency at MPPS). The primary filter is a polyester ANT M-class cartridge of 30,000 cm² (Ø 360 mm), followed by a 20,500 cm² HEPA H14. This ensures fine dust is not recirculated to the work area.

How is the dust collected?

The MTL 202 ACD collects dust directly in the 20-litre container, which is emptied manually. A tangential inlet with cyclone is included to offload the filter. A Longopac system is not fitted on this variant -- see the MTL 202 ACD LP for a variant with continuous bag discharge.
