Tiger-Vac CD-1200 EX Stainless Steel CAT. 3GD Z2-22

The Tiger-Vac CD-1200 EX 3GD (113046B1) is a stationary stainless-steel dust collector for Zones 2 and 22. It is marked II 3GD (Ex h nA IIB T3 Gc / Ex h tc IIIB T120 °C Dc IP55) and is intended for non-conductive combustible dust in dust group IIIB. A 2.2 kW TEFC motor moves 2,000 m³/h through a conductive aluminised cartridge, and the dust collects in a 10 L drawer. A stainless-steel HEPA module is available as an option. If the unit is to stand in Zone 1/21 or collect conductive dust, the 2GD version must be used.

Applications

  • Point extraction at dispensing stations and addition funnels in Zone 22
  • Extraction with two arms or one large arm
  • Areas classified as gas Zone 2 and dust Zone 22
  • Non-conductive combustible dust (dust group IIIB)
  • Jobs where 1,000 m³/h is not enough and Zone 1/21 is not required

Questions and answers

Which ATEX zones is the CD-1200 EX 3GD for?

The marking is II 3GD: category 3 for gas Zone 2 (Gc) and dust Zone 22 (Dc). Dust group IIIB covers non-conductive combustible dust. For Zone 1/21 or conductive dust (IIIC) the 2GD version must be used. The price list states EN 17348 DT for collecting combustible dust.

How does the 3GD version differ from the 2GD version?

The 2GD version (113045B1) has a 4 kW motor and is certified for Zone 1/21 and conductive dust (IIIC). The 3GD version (113046B1) has a 2.2 kW motor and is for Zone 2/22 and non-conductive dust (IIIB). The manufacturer states 2,000 m³/h for both.

How does the CD-1200 EX differ from the CD-600 EX?

The CD-1200 EX moves 2,000 m³/h and has no HEPA as standard. The CD-600 EX moves 1,000 m³/h, has a HEPA afterfilter as standard and is marked II 1/2GD for Zone 1/21.

Can it pick up liquids?

No. The CD-1200 EX is for dry recovery only, per EN 17348 DT.

Does the CD-1200 EX have a HEPA filter?

Not as standard. The standard filter is a conductive cartridge. A stainless-steel HEPA module (218072) is available as an option.
