Tiger-Vac CD-595 EX HEPA VOC Stainless Steel CAT. 2GD Z1-21

The Tiger-Vac CD-595 EX HEPA VOC (112997B1) is a mobile Type 304 stainless-steel extractor for fumes, vapours, VOCs and gases in ATEX areas. It is certified II 1/2GD for use in gas Zones 1 and 2 and dust Zones 21 and 22, and to EN 17348 DT for collecting combustible dust. Air passes through three stages: a metal mesh that acts as a spark trap, a V-bank HEPA H14 filter rated 99.99 % at 0.3 µm, and twelve activated-carbon cartridges that adsorb fumes and VOCs. It moves 1,000 m³/h, is available with a 2.2 kW motor for 400 V or a 1.5 kW motor for 230 V, and the differential pressure gauge is included.

Questions and answers

What does the carbon stage on the CD-595 EX HEPA VOC do?

The twelve activated-carbon cartridges adsorb fumes, organic vapours and VOCs – the gaseous compounds a HEPA filter does not capture. The HEPA H14 filter retains particles down to 0.3 µm, and the metal-mesh spark trap sits in front.

How long does the carbon last?

It depends on which vapours are extracted and in what quantities, and cannot be stated in advance. Monitoring the carbon and replacing the cartridges is the user's responsibility. A full change is 12 cartridges (218049).

How does the CD-595 EX HEPA VOC differ from the CD-600 EX?

They share the same ATEX certification and airflow but do different jobs. The CD-595 EX HEPA VOC removes fumes, vapours and VOCs with a spark trap, HEPA H14 and activated carbon. The CD-600 EX is a dust collector with a cartridge filter, HEPA afterfilter and 10 L drawer. Where both dust and vapours are present, the two can be used side by side.

Can it pick up liquids?

No. The CD-595 EX HEPA VOC is for dry recovery only, per EN 17348 DT.

Which ATEX zones is the CD-595 EX certified for?

The marking is II 1/2GD. Externally the unit is category 2 (Gb/Db) and may be used in gas Zones 1 and 2 and dust Zones 21 and 22. Internally it is marked Ga/Da, i.e. category 1. Certification is LCIE 03 ATEX 6295 X and IECEx LCI 10.0040X.
