Tiger-Vac CD-63L EX (W&D) Z1-2-21-22 -- three-phase

The Tiger-Vac CD-63L EX (W&D) Z1-2-21-22 in three-phase configuration (112500B1) is the more powerful variant of the CD-63L W&D platform. ATEX II 1/2GD 3rd party certified. A 400 V TEFC induction motor (2200 W, 4.8 A) delivers 212 m3/h at 2540 mmH2O and 72 dB(A) -- the same drive specs as the single-phase version, but with higher power and longer motor life. 56.8 L AISI 304 dust tank + 64.4 L liquid capacity, manometer, muffler, wet floater and dry filter included. Carriage Base construction on heavy-duty powder coated cart with static dissipative wheels. Suitable for continuous duty in refineries, chemical industry and pharma production.

Questions and answers

What does II 1/2GD mean?

II 1/2GD is the ATEX combined marking indicating: II = surface installation, 1/2 = internal category 1 (highest level, for Zone 0 gas / Zone 20 dust) and external category 2 (for Zone 1 gas / Zone 21 dust), G = gas, D = dust. The CD-63L (W&D) may therefore collect from the most hazardous point (Zone 20 inside the tank / Zone 0 gas) while the operator stands in a less hazardous area (Zone 21 / Zone 1). This is the preferred marking for wet/dry applications in refineries and chemical industry.

What is the difference between single-phase and three-phase CD-63L (W&D)?

Drive specs are identical (212 m3/h, 2540 mmH2O, 72 dB(A), 56.8 L dust + 64.4 L liquid, 107 kg). The difference is motor configuration: single-phase (112500B3) uses 230 V and 12.3 A with 1500 W power; three-phase (112500B1) uses 400 V and 4.8 A with 2200 W power. The three-phase motor is more efficient (lower current at higher power) and has longer life. Choose single-phase if you have a 230 V outlet; choose three-phase if you have a 400 V installation.

What liquids may it pick up?

Only non-flammable liquids per EN 17348 LC. This means water, brine, coolants, non-flammable process liquids and spills from non-flammable media may be collected. FLAMMABLE liquids (petrol, solvents above their flash point) are NOT covered by the certificate and may not be collected -- for liquid recovery in Zone 0 gas, see the separate model catalogue.

Why a wet floater system?

The wet floater is a mechanical cut-off mechanism that closes the suction when the liquid reaches a set level in the tank. This prevents liquid from reaching the motor via the vacuum circuit and damaging it. The floater system is mandatory on wet/dry vacuums per EN 17348 LC and is part of the 3rd party ATEX certificate. At emptying the liquid must be disposed of per local regulation (contact us for advice on disposal of classified liquids).

What are the manometer and muffler for?

The manometer on the intake side shows the vacuum level and gives the operator a quick visual signal of when the filter is becoming clogged. The muffler on the exhaust side significantly reduces noise -- 72 dB(A) is about 10 dB lower than a CD-3 EX without a muffler. Both are included as standard on the CD-63L and are part of the brochure equipment.
