Tiger-Vac CD-100L (DT) EX (MFS) 2D Z21 -- 3.4 kW
The Tiger-Vac CD-100L (DT) EX (MFS) 2D Z21 in the 3.4 kW variant is the high-capacity mobile dust vacuum for combustible dust -- marked II 1/2D to EN 17348 DT. With a 100 L detachable tank the model is suited to applications with high collection volumes where frequent emptying must be avoided. The three-phase TEFC motor (3.4 kW, 8 A) delivers 306 m3/h at 2540 mmH2O. The main filter is a static-dissipative SD* PTFE star-shaped filter with 12 folds (218637) and 19,500 cm2 surface, cleaned mechanically by Manual Filter Shaker (MFS). A manometer is included for vacuum monitoring. A True Cyclone Separator at the suction inlet boosts recovery capacity. The suction inlet is 2.5" CAMLOCK (63.5 mm) -- dedicated to crushproof suction hose (500540D) with 2.5" female camlock.

Questions and answers
Why 2.5" CAMLOCK instead of 50 mm or 63.5 mm standard?
2.5" CAMLOCK (corresponding to 63.5 mm internal) is a quick-connect coupling fast to attach and dimensioned for the larger air volume (306 m3/h) CD-100L delivers. The CAMLOCK connector also handles pressure differences better than a simple round coupling of the same dimension. The supplied crushproof suction hose (500540D, 2" x 15' / 50 mm x 4.5 m) has 2.5" female camlock on one end and 2" (50 mm) in the hose diameter itself -- so the hose connects to the machine via CAMLOCK, while the hose and tools are standard Ø50 mm. It's an industry standard solution across Tiger-Vac for all high-flow models.
What is the difference between the 3.4 kW and 7.5 kW variants of CD-100L?
The 3.4 kW variant (112570B1-Z21, this page) delivers 306 m3/h at 2540 mmH2O -- identical to CD-4 and CD-55L in air volume and vacuum, but with a larger tank. The 7.5 kW variant (112574B1-Z21) delivers 450 m3/h at 2345 mmH2O -- higher air volume but slightly lower vacuum, and weighs 11 kg more (175 kg vs 164 kg). 7.5 kW requires cable and fuse dimensioning for 15 A; 3.4 kW is fine with 8 A. Choose 3.4 kW for standard applications where 306 m3/h is enough; choose 7.5 kW when you need to recover much higher air volume (longer hose, multiple simultaneous pickup points) or want the machine to retain higher capacity over time.
What does 19,500 cm2 filter surface mean, and why is it important?
19,500 cm2 (~1.95 m2) is the total surface area of the PTFE star-shaped main filter (218637) including all 12 folds. For comparison a flat filter of the same diameter typically has only 1,000-1,500 cm2 surface. The larger area means lower airflow resistance (longer motor life), longer intervals between filter cleaning (less downtime), and better handling of larger dust loads without clogging. The PTFE coating simultaneously prevents dust particles from adhering so Manual Filter Shaker can drop the cake more easily into the tank. Filter life is typically 6-12 months under continuous duty, depending on dust type.
Can it pick up liquids?
No. The CD-100L EX (MFS) 2D Z21 is certified EN 17348 DT -- dry-only recovery (Dry Recovery Only per brochure). For wet/dry in Zone 20/21 a dedicated WD model must be specified. Contact us for advice on ATEX wet/dry.
How is the 100 L tank emptied in practice?
The tank (100 L in AISI 304 stainless) is mounted on the heavy-duty powder coated cart and released by loosening a clamp system. Using a conductive poly liner (212106AS, specific to CD-100L DT) the operator activates Manual Filter Shaker, lifts the tank out, ties the poly liner's draw string, and empties the poly bag itself in an approved waste container. Poly liners minimise dust release on emptying and maintain ESD protection. Without poly liner the tank must be tipped manually -- this can be unwieldy when fully loaded (typically 20-40 kg depending on dust density), so we always recommend poly liner for practical daily operation.
