Tiger-Vac CD-100L (DT) EX (MFS) Z22 -- 3.4 kW

The Tiger-Vac CD-100L (DT) EX (MFS) Z22 in 3.4 kW configuration is Tiger-Vac's high-capacity ATEX II 3D vacuum for Zone 22 -- 100 L AISI 304 detachable tank, three-phase TEFC motor and a 2.5" CAMLOCK quick-coupling suction intake. Note: Tiger-Vac's brochure incorrectly states category 2D for this variant; the correct ATEX marking is 3D (Z22) per Thomas' override instruction. 3400 W TEFC at 8 A delivers 306 m3/h at 2540 mmH2O and 72 dB(A). The star-shaped Teflon-coated 19,500 cm2 main filter is shaken mechanically by MFS, and the True Cyclone Separator increases separation efficiency. Suitable for high collection volume in industrial housekeeping, refinery boundary zones and chemical industry.

Questions and answers

Why 3D and not 2D as the brochure says?

Tiger-Vac's own printed brochure incorrectly shows "Category: 2D" for the 112582B1-Z22 configuration. The correct ATEX marking according to Tiger-Vac's own certificate is 3D (Zone 22) -- as the Z22 suffix in the part number also indicates. We have confirmation from Thomas that the brochure has a typographical error in this row. The nominal category is 3D, and the product is correctly placed in atex-støv/z22-3d.

What is the difference between 3.4 kW and 5.2 kW variants of the CD-100L Z22?

3.4 kW (112582B1-Z22, this page) delivers 306 m3/h at 2540 mmH2O with 8 A and 72 dB(A). 5.2 kW (112586B1-Z22) delivers 500 m3/h at 2540 mmH2O with 10 A and 75 dB(A) -- about 63 % more flow at the same vacuum. Weight and dimensions are identical (164 kg, 117 x 69 x 168 cm). Choose 3.4 kW for standard applications; choose 5.2 kW when longer hose lengths, multiple simultaneous suction points or higher flow are required.

What is the 19,500 cm2 main filter?

19,500 cm2 (~1.95 m2) is the total area of the star-shaped PTFE-coated main filter (218637). The star-shaped (pleated) construction gives maximum area in a compact cylindrical form. The PTFE coating resists dust particles sticking to the filter, so the Manual Filter Shaker (MFS) effectively shakes the filter cake down into the tank at each emptying. Main filter life is typically 6-12 months under continuous use, depending on dust type.

What is the 2.5" CAMLOCK?

2.5" CAMLOCK is a quick-coupling hose connection (industry standard) where the male sits on the hose and the female on the machine. Connection happens without tools (the cam-lock arms lock the hose). 2.5" diameter (63.5 mm) is required for 306 m3/h flow -- a smaller 50 mm connection would create a bottleneck. The supplied crushproof suction hose (500540D, 50 mm x 4.5 m) has a 2.5" female camlock at the end and 50 mm at the hose body itself -- so connection to the machine is via CAMLOCK while the tool is standard 50 mm.

How is the 100 L tank emptied in practice?

The tank is mounted on a heavy-duty cart with a clamp system. The operator shakes the filter clean with MFS, releases the clamp and lifts the tank out. With a conductive poly-liner (212106AS, specific to the CD-100L DT) the draw string is tied and the whole bag is emptied into an approved waste bin. Without a poly-liner the tank must be tipped manually -- this can be unwieldy with a full 100 L load (typically 20-40 kg depending on dust density), so we always recommend a poly-liner for daily operation.
