ATEX Dust vacuum cleaner

Tiger-Vac CD-15 (DT) EX (MFS) Z22

Three-phase TEFC ATEX II 3D dust vacuum for Zone 22 – 55 L detachable tank, 320 m3/h, 60 mm conductive intake, MFS, dry recovery of combustible dust only

  • Dry recovery of combustible dust in Zone 22 (EN 17348 DT)
  • Industrial housekeeping and general cleaning in production with combustible dust
  • Continuous 24/7 duty with TEFC motor and regenerative blower
  • Fine dust shaken off the star-shaped filter with the Manual Filter Shaker (MFS)
  • Sites where a compact 60 cm width and 320 m3/h flow is a good balance

Tiger-Vac CD-15 (DT) EX (MFS) Z22

The Tiger-Vac CD-15 (DT) EX (MFS) Z22 is a three-phase ATEX dust vacuum marked II 3D for external Zone 22 dust. It is not marked for gas and must not be used in gas zones. It is the smallest in the CD series: a 2.6 kW TEFC induction motor delivers 320 m3/h at 3260 mmH2O and 73 dB(A). It has a 55 L detachable tank, an AISI 304 stainless steel body, a 60 mm conductive intake, conductive rear wheels with brakes, a filter blockage gauge and a silencer. A True Cyclone Separator at the suction intake improves suction performance, and the Manual Filter Shaker (MFS) shakes the star-shaped main filter clean. Compact dimensions (110 x 60 x 145 cm) give good mobility in process areas with Zone 22.

Applications

  • Dry recovery of combustible dust in Zone 22 (EN 17348 DT)

Questions and answers

What does category 3D mean?

Category 3D is the ATEX marking for external Zone 22 dust. "3" indicates category 3, for zones where an explosive dust atmosphere is expected only rarely and briefly, and "D" stands for dust. The CD-15 is not marked for gas and must not be used in gas zones. EN 17348 DT means it is built for dry recovery of combustible dust.

What does the cyclone system do?

The CD-15 has a True Cyclone Separator at the suction intake. Tiger-Vac states that it improves suction performance.

Why a TEFC motor instead of a classic by-pass?

TEFC means Totally Enclosed Fan-Cooled. The motor housing is sealed and cooled by an external fan, so the unit suits continuous 24/7 duty. By-pass motors, as in the C series, are designed for intermittent use.

What is the VRV setting of 2650 mmH2O?

The VRV (Vacuum Relief Valve) is a safety valve that opens at a set vacuum level and protects the motor from overload. On the CD-15 it is set to 2650 mmH2O, below the maximum vacuum of 3260 mmH2O. If the hose or the filter clogs, the valve opens and lets air pass around the vacuum circuit.

Can it pick up liquids?

No. The CD-15 is marked EN 17348 DT and is for dry recovery only. If liquids must be collected too, choose a model marked EN 17348 DT/LC. Contact us and we will find the right one.

Why a 60 mm intake rather than 50 mm?

A 60 mm conductive intake gives lower resistance at the high airflow of 320 m3/h and suits larger hoses and tools. At 320 m3/h a 50 mm intake would become a bottleneck.
