Tiger-Vac CD-2600 EX CR (MFS) Z22

The Tiger-Vac CD-2600 EX CR (MFS) Z22 (CR = Cleanroom) is Tiger-Vac's vertically mounted single-phase ATEX II 3D vacuum for pharma and cleanroom applications. Marked II 3D Ex h tc IIIC T125 C Dc IP65, EN 17348 DT, and is ISO Class 4 cleanroom compatible. A 230 V TEFC induction motor (2 kW, 13 A) delivers 306 m3/h at 2030 mmH2O and just 68 dB(A) -- the lowest noise in the CD series. The vertical Carriage Base (CB) construction gives a small 51 x 66 cm footprint but 191 cm height -- ideal for areas with limited floor space. 36 L AISI 304 detachable tank, star-shaped Teflon-coated main filter with MFS, True Cyclone Separator. Often used in pharma pilot plants for tablet recovery, dust housekeeping in cleanrooms, and process equipment connection where a tall cylindrical shape fits better than a short, wide CD-55L.

Applications

  • Pharma tablet recovery in ATEX cleanrooms (ISO Class 4 compatible)
  • Dust housekeeping in cleanrooms with limited floor space -- vertical Carriage Base
  • Process equipment connection for continuous dust extraction
  • Pharma pilot plants where low sound level (68 dB(A)) is critical
  • ATEX housekeeping where single-phase 230 V is required

Questions and answers

Why vertical mounting on a Carriage Base?

The Carriage Base (CB) keeps the vacuum in an upright cylindrical form 191 cm tall. This gives a footprint of just 51 x 66 cm -- about a third of a standard horizontal CD-55L. Suitable for pharma pilot plants, cleanrooms and small process areas where floor space is at a premium. The CB construction is also easier to integrate with process equipment via the top of the tank (for connecting pickup pipes from process machinery).

What does ISO Class 4 cleanroom compatible mean?

ISO Class 4 (formerly Class 10) is a cleanroom class allowing maximum 352 particles above 0.5 micron per m3 of air. The CD-2600 in the optional ULPA U15 configuration can meet this requirement because ULPA filtration captures 99.999 % of particles down to 0.12 micron. The vacuum must be placed in the cleanroom or connected to the cleanroom's exhaust system. Note: with the standard MFS cloth filter (without HEPA/ULPA option) the CD-2600 is NOT ISO 4 compatible -- HEPA or ULPA is an optional upgrade for pharma applications.

What does "CR" stand for in the model name?

CR stands for Cleanroom -- i.e. the variant designed for pharma and cleanroom applications. The vertical Carriage Base and low sound level (68 dB(A)) are both cleanroom-oriented design choices. Other CD-2600 variants (without CR) exist with horizontal mounting or three-phase 400 V motors for more industrial applications.

Can it pick up liquids or tablets?

Liquids: no -- the CD-2600 is Dry Recovery Only per EN 17348 DT. Liquids can however be collected in a separate tank (contact us for configuration). Tablets: yes -- Tiger-Vac specifically highlights in the brochure that the CD-2600 EX CR "can also be used for the recovery of tablets in the Pharmaceutical industry". Tablets fall into the 36 L AISI 304 tank without being crushed by the motor's vacuum flow, making it suitable for pharma tablet reject recovery.

Why 68 dB(A) -- so low for a TEFC motor?

The CD-2600's vertical construction isolates the motor's cooling fan from the environment via a sound-damping shroud and a silencer on the exhaust. The larger 36 L tank also contributes as a passive damping volume. The result is 68 dB(A) -- about 7 dB lower than the standard CD-55L Z22 at 75 dB(A). This makes the CD-2600 EX CR one of the quietest industrial ATEX vacuums on the market.
