Delfin DG 75 AF

The Delfin DG 75 AF is the top model in the 100-litre DG range: a 7.5 kW side-channel blower with 700 m³/h airflow, a taller cabinet (1750 mm) and a 49,000 cm² star/pocket primary filter. It is sized for the most demanding Zone 22 tasks where airflow is the limiting factor — long central-vacuum installations, multiple concurrent users, or collection of particularly light dust. Self-certified per EN 17348:2022 in category 3D.

Questions and answers

Is it ATEX-certified or self-certified?

It is self-certified by Delfin per EN 17348:2022 in category 3D. For category 3, the ATEX Directive permits manufacturer self-certification, provided the requirements of the harmonised standard are met. The marking is II 3D Ex h tc IIIC T80°C (Int)/T165°C (Ext) Dc.

Why are two vacuum values shown on the datasheet?

The model has a pressure relief valve fitted as standard. The valve admits false air at a set vacuum (2700 mmH²O) and thereby prevents the side-channel blower from being overloaded by blocked filters or a closed hose. The higher value (3200 mmH²O) is the theoretical maximum vacuum without valve activation. Both values are indicative and measured in new condition.

How is the dust collected — is there a bag?

The dust is collected in an open antistatic plastic bag placed in the container. The bag is held in place by a vacuum kit fitted at commissioning, which uses the container vacuum to press the bag against the container wall. This prevents the bag from collapsing or being drawn into the filter during operation.

Is it certified for Zone 21 or Zone 20?

No. The model is categorised as 3D Dc, which only covers Zone 22. For Zone 21 or internal Zone 20, a 1/2D or 1/3D model must be used — for example the Delfin MTL 301 1/3D, MTL 201 1/2D or DM2 EL 1/2D LP. Contact Particulair if you are unsure which zone classification your production requires.

Can it run continuously for 8-16 hours?

Yes. The side-channel blower is oil-free and has long service life under continuous operation — that is the reason the technology is preferred on the MTL/DG range over bypass or brushless motors. The pressure relief valve protects against overload from filter blockage, and the motor is rated for continuous duty (S1).

What does AF mean in the DG 75 AF, and how does it differ from the DG 70 EXP?

Delfin has not published an official explanation of the designation, but the model's characteristics suggest AF = Airflow. The DG 75 AF delivers the family's highest airflow (700 m³/h vs the DG 70 EXP's 530) alongside slightly lower theoretical peak vacuum (3200 mmH²O vs 3600). The motor is 7.5 kW vs 5.5 kW, the cabinet is taller (1750 mm vs 1450) and the primary filter larger (49,000 cm² vs 30,000). The HEPA area is identical (52,000 cm²). The DG 75 AF is the choice when flow and volume are the limiting factors — typically central vacuum systems or multiple concurrent users — while the DG 70 EXP provides more peak vacuum.
