Delfin DM2 1/2D
The Delfin DM2 1/2D is an ATEX-certified single-phase vacuum for Zone 21-classified areas with internal Zone 20 (classification 1/2D Da/Db). Two brushless motors in parallel deliver 430 m³/h and suit intensive, continuous use -- brushless technology eliminates carbon brushes and reduces maintenance. A 100 L stainless AISI 304 container and standard HEPA H14 filter provide high collection capacity and air quality.

Questions and answers
What does the 1/2D Da/Db marking mean?
1/2D means Category 1 (Zone 20) internally and Category 2 (Zone 21) externally for dust. Da/Db are the corresponding EPLs. In practice: the container interior may have a permanently explosive atmosphere, and the appliance may be placed in a Zone 21 area (occasional explosive atmosphere during normal operation).
Why brushless motors instead of bypass?
Brushless motors have no carbon brushes and generate less heat and noise during long operating hours. They cost more to purchase, but service life and operational reliability are significantly higher under intensive use -- therefore they are standard on 1/2D models, where the zone class typically reflects frequent operation.
Does the DM2 1/2D comply with EN 17348:2022?
Yes. The DM2 1/2D meets EN 17348:2022 -- the harmonized standard for industrial vacuums handling combustible dust in ATEX-classified environments.
Can the DM2 1/2D run on 115 V?
Yes. The voltage specification is 115/230 V 50-60 Hz, so the model can be used in productions with US 115 V supply. Note that current draw (16 A) is higher at 115 V than at 230 V.
What is the container size and collection system?
The DM2 1/2D has a 100-litre stainless AISI 304 container and a synthetic safebag as standard. If you need endless-bag operation (Longopac), the DM2 EL 1/2D LP is available in the same ATEX category 1/2D.
