Delfin DM2 EL 1/3D
The Delfin DM2 EL 1/3D is an ATEX-certified single-phase vacuum for collecting combustible dust in Zone 22-classified areas with internal Zone 20 (classification 1/3D Da/Dc). Two bypass motors in parallel deliver 360 m³/h airflow without requiring three-phase power. Construction is Dust Tight IP64-certified with stainless AISI 304 container and standard HEPA H14 filter. Suitable for periodic cleaning and material collection in ATEX zones.

Questions and answers
What does the 1/3D Da/Dc marking mean?
1/3D means the machine is certified for Category 1 (Zone 20) internally and Category 3 (Zone 22) externally for dust (D = Dust). Da/Dc are the corresponding EPLs (Equipment Protection Levels). In practice: the container interior may have a permanently explosive atmosphere, and the appliance may be placed in a Zone 22 area.
Does the DM2 EL 1/3D comply with EN 17348:2022?
Yes. The DM2 EL 1/3D meets EN 17348:2022 -- the harmonized standard for industrial vacuums handling combustible dust in ATEX-classified environments.
Can I use the DM2 EL 1/3D in Zone 21?
No. The DM2 EL 1/3D is certified for Zone 22 externally (Category 3, Dc). If your area is Zone 21, choose a 1/2D model -- for example the DM2 1/2D or DM2 EL 1/2D LP.
Why two motors?
Two single-phase bypass motors in parallel deliver roughly double the airflow of one motor without requiring three-phase power. This suits workshops and smaller production areas where only single-phase 230 V is available.
Where is the dust collected?
The DM2 EL 1/3D uses a 60-litre stainless-steel container (AISI 304) with a synthetic safebag, so bag changes can occur without contact with the dust. Longopac is NOT used on this model -- see DM2 EL 1/2D LP if endless-bag operation is required (Zone 21 only).
