Questions and answers
What does ATEX SP 3D mean in the model name?
SP stands for Self-Powered Cleaning -- integrated reverse jet with compressed-air pulse. 3D refers to the ATEX category: Zone 22 external (category 3D). The model is certified II 3D Ex h IIIC T160 Dc and can be installed stand-alone in a Zone 22 environment without an additional filter cleaning setup.
Is the ECOBULL M ATEX SP 3D certified for Zone 21?
No. The ECOBULL M ATEX SP 3D is pure 3D -- Zone 22 external only. For Zone 21 choose a 1/2D model, e.g. the Depureco BL 45 DEX 1/2D. For internal Zone 20 (combustible dust inside the container itself) choose a 1/3D model, e.g. the ECOBULL M DEX 1/3D.
What is the difference between ATEX SP 3D and DEX 1/3D?
SP 3D has a 3x cartridge filter with 90,000 cm2 and reverse-jet cleaning included -- built for continuous operation with automatic filter cleaning. DEX 1/3D has a star filter 24,000 cm2 with manual cleaning and is cheaper, but requires manual filter handling. SP 3D also has pure 3D marking (Zone 22 external only); DEX 1/3D has 1/3D marking (Zone 22 external + Zone 20 internal).
Is the 1.8 kW single-phase side-channel blower enough for my task?
The ECOBULL M ATEX SP 3D delivers 240 m3/h at 180 mbar -- sufficient for one to two stationary collection points with 3-5 m hose. For higher airflow choose the ECOBULL PLUS ATEX SP 3D (350 m3/h) or the TX range (350-550 m3/h). For a 100 mm inlet and heavy industrial duty, choose the PUMA DEX range.
How large is the container, and can it be emptied without opening the whole machine?
The container is 65 L AISI 304 with low-level detachment -- pulled out below the machine for emptying. A relief valve sits above the filter and protects the motor from filter over-pressure during emptying. Options such as bag-in-container and safe-change BIBO are available if the dust must not contact the operator.
Can the model run on 60 Hz?
Yes. The side-channel blower is certified for 230 V 50-60 Hz. At 60 Hz airflow rises by around 20 % and vacuum by around 44 % compared to 50 Hz. Contact us for precise performance data at 60 Hz if you are exporting to North or South America.
