Depureco FOX 10 DEX 1/2D
- Continuous operation with fine dust in 2-3-shift operation
- High-density dust (e.g. metal oxides, cement, minerals)
- Zone 21 installation with long hose runs (15+ m) where pressure drop is critical
- Last step before the PUMA class when 100 L container capacity is still sufficient
- Replacement of older FOX 7.5 or FOX 5.5 units during upgrades
- ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU -- II 1/2D Ex htc IIIC T140°C Da/Db
- EN 17348:2022 (harmonized March 2023)
- IEC 60335-2-69 (industrial vacuums)
Depureco FOX 10 DEX 1/2D
The FOX 10 DEX 1/2D is the top of the FOX range with an 80 mm inlet: 7.5 kW side-channel blower, 550 m3/h at 280 mbar -- the highest vacuum in the FOX family. ATEX II 1/2D Ex htc IIIC T140°C Da/Db, H14 absolute filter included. The robust 242 kg chassis has thermal reserve for continuous operation with the heaviest filter loading. Suited when you want to stay in the FOX class (100 L + cyclone + 80 mm) but need vacuum reserve for difficult dust types or long hose runs.

Questions and answers
When does it make sense to go from FOX 10 to PUMA 10?
Four signs: (1) you hit the 100 L limit so often it disrupts production; (2) your dust is so fine the star filter clogs in a few hours; (3) you need a 100 mm inlet (PUMA) instead of 80 mm (FOX); or (4) you want a TUEV-certified electrical panel with remote control. The PUMA 10 1/2D has a 175 L container and 270 mbar / 750 m3/h -- same price class but greater capacity and a more modern electrical interface.
Why is the FOX 10 so much heavier (242 kg vs 177 kg on the FOX 7.5)?
Reinforced steel frame, larger motor, larger control panel and a thermally massive cooling flange for the 7.5 kW motor. The extra weight provides vibration stability -- at 280 mbar in continuous operation, motor vibration is noticeably higher than on the FOX 7.5, so the chassis has to damp it. Wheels are IP65 axles but you may need a reinforced floor for permanent placement.
Can I switch between 50 Hz and 60 Hz operation without modifications?
The motor is dual-frequency 50/60 Hz rated, so electrically yes. But watch the flow and vacuum curves at 60 Hz: flow increases around 20 percent (660 m3/h), but vacuum drops around 15 percent (240 mbar). The control panel is typically configured for 50 Hz thermal protection -- verify with Depureco before switching to a 60 Hz country. Most European installations are 50 Hz.
Is there a variable frequency drive for variable suction?
Not as standard. ATEX certification assumes fixed frequency, and a VFD must itself be ATEX-certified and installed outside Zone 21. Depureco offers an optional external VFD package -- contact us for the specification. Alternative: a suction regulator (manual damper) on the intake for local regulation without changing motor load.
