Delfin MTL 201 1/3D
- Periodic cleaning of floors and machinery surfaces in Zone 22
- Smaller warehouse cells and production rooms with occasional dust
- Service booths and technical rooms in dusty industrial environments
- Post-shift cleanup where dust has settled but can be disturbed
- Small production cells with combustible dust
- ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU -- II 1/3D Ex h tb IIIC T80°C(Int)/T95°C(ext) Da/Dc
- EN 17348:2022 (harmonized March 2023)

Delfin MTL 201 1/3D
The MTL 201 1/3D is the compact 20-litre ATEX sibling of the 301 1/3D: the same ATEX certification for Zone 22 external and Zone 20 internal, the same single-phase bypass motor and cartridge filter with Dustop, but in a lighter 32 kg frame. Ideal for periodic cleaning in warehouses, production aisles and service booths, where three-phase power is not available and space is limited.

Questions and answers
What does the marking II 1/3D mean?
"II" means surface installation (not mining), "1" indicates the internal category (Zone 20 -- continuous dust atmosphere in the container), "3" indicates the external category (Zone 22 -- rare/short dust atmosphere in the surroundings), and "D" stands for dust. The digits 1 and 2 in this D-marking have nothing to do with gas.
What is the difference between the MTL 201 1/3D and MTL 301 1/3D?
Both share the same ATEX certification and the same single-phase bypass motor topology. The MTL 201 has a 20-litre container and weighs 32 kg, while the MTL 301 has a 40-litre container and weighs 43 kg. Same airflow (180 m³/h) and same filter. Choose the 201 for smaller cells and lower ceilings; choose the 301 for larger areas or longer runs between emptyings.
Why is the motor a bypass motor?
Bypass motors suit periodic use where the vacuum runs in bursts with pauses in between. They deliver high airflow relative to size but are not designed for continuous multi-hour operation -- for that you need a brushless motor (like the MTL 201 1/2D) or a three-phase side-channel blower.
Can it also be used in Zone 21?
No. The MTL 201 1/3D is certified for Zone 22 externally. For cleaning in Zone 21, where an explosive dust atmosphere is likely during normal operation, choose the MTL 201 1/2D or another model marked II 1/2D.
Does it comply with EN 17348:2022?
Yes. The Delfin MTL 201 1/3D meets EN 17348:2022, the harmonized standard for industrial vacuums handling combustible dust in ATEX-classified environments.
How is the dust collected?
The MTL 201 1/3D collects dust directly in the 20-litre container, which is emptied manually. A tangential inlet with cyclone offloads the filter, and the Dustop system allows the filter to be shaken with a single handle to restore suction during operation.
