Delfin MTL 202 1/2D LP
The MTL 202 1/2D LP is an ATEX-certified Longopac vacuum for Zone 21 with a large star/pocket filter (30,000 cm²) and manual cleaning by shaking. The single-phase brushless motor at 115/230 V handles extended running times, and the powder-coated conductive hopper ensures ESD-safe handling of combustible dust. Ideal for process-adjacent cleaning and bag-filling stations in pharmaceutical or chemical production, where the operator must not be exposed to the dust.

Questions and answers
What is the difference between the MTL 202 1/2D LP and MTL 202 ACD LP?
The MTL 202 1/2D LP is ATEX-certified for Zone 21 and has a brushless motor, star/pocket filter with manual cleaning, and an 80 mm suction inlet. The MTL 202 ACD LP is ACD-certified (non-ATEX) with two bypass motors, cartridge filter with Dustop, and a 50 mm suction inlet. Choose 1/2D LP if the area is classified as Zone 21 or stricter; choose ACD LP if the area is not ATEX-classified but the dust is combustible.
Why a star/pocket filter rather than a cartridge?
The star/pocket filter has a larger total filter area (30,000 cm², star diameter 500 mm) than a cartridge filter and a lower air load per filter area (120 m³/m²/h). It suits tasks with large dust volumes over longer periods without filter blockage. Cleaning is done manually by shaking the filter with a handle -- simple and robust with no need for compressed-air systems.
What is Longopac?
Longopac is a continuous bag system where a long, folded bag hangs in the container. When the bag is full, it is sealed and cut off without opening the container -- the operator does not come into direct contact with the content. This model has 20 metres of bag and a powder-coated conductive hopper for ESD-safe operation in ATEX-classified zones.
Why 115/230 V and what is the power?
The brushless motor is built for both 115 V and 230 V with the same motor, making the model international. Power is 1.1 kW / 8 A, airflow 215 m³/h and vacuum 2,250 mmH2O -- matching the MTL 201 1/2D, with the addition of a large filter area and Longopac handling.
Does it comply with EN 17348:2022?
Yes. The MTL 202 1/2D LP meets EN 17348:2022, the harmonized standard for industrial vacuums handling combustible dust in ATEX-classified environments.
What filter class does it have?
Filter class H with an absolute HEPA H14 filter per EN 1822 (99.995 % MPPS), 26,000 cm². The primary filter is a polyester ANT M-class antistatic star/pocket filter of 30,000 cm² (Ø 500 mm) with manual shaking.
