Tiger-Vac AC-25 (4W) EX
The Tiger-Vac AC-25 (4W) EX is a PASSIVE filter unit -- no motor, no venturi, no electrical components. Its purpose is purely VOC scrubbing: air from another vacuum (e.g. SS-25 TE or EXP1-55 TE) passes through the unit's exhaust and is filtered through 25 kg activated carbon pellets (3 mm, 211044A, included) plus foam and polyester filters, before exhausting to room air. The result: VOC vapours from fuel, solvents, or aerosolised chemicals are adsorbed before they reach the operator's breathing zone. Mounted on a 4-wheel dolly (4W) for easy movement, only 53 kg, 103 cm tall and 48 cm wide -- fits under most lab benches or at installation sides. Compatible with pharma and cleanroom installations. ATEX-certified for use in Zone 1/21.

How does the AC-25 (4W) EX work -- is it a vacuum?
No, it is NOT a vacuum. The AC-25 (4W) EX is a PASSIVE filter unit -- no motor, no venturi. It is connected as a retrofit filter on the exhaust of another vacuum (e.g. SS-25 TE or EXP1-55 TE). Air already drawn in and cleaned through the primary vacuum's mesh filter then passes through the AC-25's activated carbon layer, where VOC vapours are adsorbed before the air reaches the room atmosphere. You cannot use AC-25 alone -- it needs a 'primary mover' to push air through it.
Why not just use the SS-25 AC TE (HY-C) instead?
The SS-25 AC TE (HY-C) is a COMPLETE unit with built-in pneumatic motor + activated carbon filtration -- requires compressor, ATEX zone rules, and is 117 kg heavy. The AC-25 (4W) EX is only 53 kg and is a bolt-on filter for an existing vacuum. Use the AC-25 (4W) EX when you have an existing SS-25 or EXP1-55 and want to retrofit VOC scrubbing without buying a dedicated AC model. Choose the SS-25 AC TE (HY-C) when procuring a new dedicated VOC unit and you do not have an existing primary vacuum.
