Tiger-Vac EXP1-10 (4W) BASE MODEL

The Tiger-Vac EXP1-10 (4W) BASE MODEL is the entry into the EXP1 line -- a compact 22.7 L ATEX combined vacuum certified II 2GD, built for dry recovery in pharma, chemical filling and other Zone 1/21 environments. The base ships with a static-dissipative cloth main filter and stainless-steel cage; HEPA H14, pre-filter and a complete tool kit are available as options, and a liquid recovery conversion kit exists if the unit later needs to handle fluids. ISO Class 4 cleanroom compatibility (AISI 304 construction) makes it suitable for pharmaceutical production.

Questions and answers

What does II 2GD mean in the ATEX marking?

II 2GD means category 2 for both gas and dust. The unit may be used in areas where explosive atmospheres OCCASIONALLY occur during normal operation -- that is external Zone 1 for gas and Zone 21 for dust. Category 2 does NOT cover the interior of the equipment (Zone 0/20) -- that requires category 1. EN 17348:2022 is the harmonised standard that specifies test requirements for vacuums in this category.

Can I use the model in Zone 0 or Zone 20?

No. II 2GD requires category 2 externally -- Zone 1 gas and Zone 21 dust. Zone 0 (gas continuously present) and Zone 20 (dust continuously present) require category 1 equipment, which for vacuums is typically marked II 1/2GD or II 1GD. Choose e.g. the Delfin AIREX 1/2D-2/2G range for internal Zone 20 + external Zone 1/21.

Is the BASE MODEL really a complete vacuum?

Yes -- but without accessories. The BASE ships with motor head, container, static-dissipative cloth main filter and 4-wheel dolly. Tool kits (hose, wands, nozzles) are ordered separately. HEPA H14 (211027B), pre-filter 212008 and a liquid recovery conversion kit (214852 + 214854 + 211010) are options. This makes the BASE the lowest-cost entry and the most flexible to configure for a specific task.

Is the HEPA filter standard or optional?

On the BASE MODEL the HEPA H14 (211027B) is OPTIONAL -- standard is a static-dissipative class M cloth main filter with stainless-steel cage. Where HEPA is required, it is selected separately, and a pre-filter 212008 can be added to extend HEPA service life.

How is the collected material handled safely?

The conductive poly liner (212100A) is placed in the container before use. When the dust has been collected, the liner is sealed and disposed of without direct contact -- critical for both occupational safety and ATEX hygiene, because the liner is static-dissipative and cannot build electrostatic charge during disposal. Always keep the same ESD chain on bags, hoses and accessories, and always ground the unit during operation.

Why are the dimensions square (460 × 460)?

The tank is round AISI 304; 460 × 460 mm is the square bounding box. The 840 mm height includes motor head and dolly. Round tanks are easier to clean internally and eliminate corners where dust can accumulate.
