Questions and answers

Why does the PUMA 15 weigh only 270 kg when the PUMA 10 weighs 295 kg?

It's not an error -- it's printed this way in Depureco's catalog. The difference stems from motor supplier and internal frame reinforcement: PUMA 10 uses a specific thermally-reinforced motor variant (7.5 kW) with a larger cooling plate and additional chassis bracing, while PUMA 15 uses an 11 kW motor with lighter aluminium fins and slimmer mounting. PUMA 20 and 25 weigh 290 and 370 kg respectively -- so the sequence is not linear in kW.

Can I upgrade from PUMA 10 to PUMA 15 without changing the installation?

Largely yes. Same 850 x 1550 footprint, same 1980 mm height, same 100 mm inlet, same 175 L container. What needs changing: the electrical supply (11 kW draws about 18 A versus 12 A at 7.5 kW -- the main fuse may need upgrading), the remote panel is compatible. Hoses and pickup points unchanged. Installation time: about 4-6 hours including electrical connection.

How many amps does the PUMA 15 draw at 400 V / 50 Hz?

Nominal full load: about 18-22 A depending on load factor. Inrush about 60-80 A for 1-2 seconds. Typically requires a 25-32 A main fuse depending on motor protection relay characteristic. The control panel has internal thermal protection -- explicit motor protection in an external panel is not required.

How long does a container emptying take?

Standard emptying (without the P00273 tiltable bin kit): about 2-4 minutes with manual rolling on wheels and manual emptying. With the P00273 tiltable kit (314 EUR): about 30-60 seconds, hydraulic tipping. For frequent emptying (e.g. twice per shift): the tiltable kit is a clear improvement. For infrequent emptying (weekly): manual is fine.
